I wasn't sure where to put this, but I choose the Weather page on the web site. Go to the Weatherhttp://www.obx130.com/obx130_002.htm page and scroll to the bottom.
I will try to put on here as an attachment,
Crap- I got it on here twice and do not know how to fix that-ignore second instance!
Note we will have a full moon the last night!

I decided that Ocracoke Inlet might be more representitave of the tides where we will sail, so I changed the web site to reflect that. Attached the Table for Ocracoke

First of all, congratulations Grandpa Bill ! I just sent Paul an email telling him my two from Oakland, CA arrive tomorrow and I hope to get them and the local two out for a sail during the balmy weather here in Philly.
Thanks for the tide charts ... if I read them right low tide are pretty much mid day so departing and arriving each day should leave some water. One of the questions I have if I can connect with Paul is .. did you or the Martha Jane go aground last summer, or were you able use charts well enough to avoid it? I draw less than 3 feet loaded, maybe 9 or so with the board up.
Anyhow, I'm not quite 100% committed but getting there. My wife's health is still a bit of a question but I've just got a VHF & GPS and am doing all the little things on the boat - taking time off for the grandchildren this week, of course.
Paul has done a great job pulling this together. He must be bursting at the seams being a new dad .. hope it works out for him and I told him my boat will take another comfortably.
Bob

Hi Bob! So 3' with the board down and 9" with it down. If I recall correctly you have a lee board. Which means you can adjust the depth. The Mikesboat has about the same, if not a little deeper. I have even less in my cat and I still got stranded once at low tide. If you stick to the channels, which are well marked, then you will have no problems. If you are like me and head way over east of the channel to cut the corner then you will be sorry. On the way back north bill left the channel to early and tried to head to dump island and went straight up onto a sand bar. The approach to dump Island is the hardest. if you do not plan on beaching then the navigation becomes easier. on the north side of the island there is a long shallow pool that you can anchor in and walk in knee deep water up to the beach. I will point this all out to you when we sit down and talk. Thanks! Paul
